The Synthesis of Yoga

The Synthesis of Yoga is Sri Aurobindo’s principal work on yoga; it is a completely detailed and thorough explanation of his method of Integral Yoga. In this reading hear from Part 4 The Yoga of Self-Perfection the first third of Chaper 21 The Gradations of the Supermind, page 811.

The intuitive mind is an immediate translation of truth into mental terms half-transformed by a radiant supramental substance … acting above mind in the superconscient spirit, of a greater self, above our present self. … this appears at first as a presence … an infinite identity of being and power of consciousness. As we progress, a greater action of spiritual feeling manifests … as the true supermind … meanwhile a higher supramental power of a much greater character has been revealing itself … taking the supreme lead of the divine action in the being.

One has to go on heightening and enlarging … finally reaching a certain completeness of divine breadth and stature … intuition is of the nature of a memory, a luminous remembering of the self-existent truth, of the very voice of truth
