Designing Cycling Environment

Cycle paths cover the town like veins, at night lighted with solar lamps, a pakka sign system guides the cyclists, shelters are posted at important junctions and if you don’t have one on your own, there you can rent-a-cycle-for-free – the vision of a bicycle, transport friendly town. How this could be realized in Auroville, will be explored in a one-month-workshop with young Indian designers, starting 18th May. An interview with Raghu and Chandresh, the organizing team; they emphasize how Aurovillians can and will be involved in this user-centred design process.
