 Following on from the discussion series facilitated by the Auroville Council and Resident's Assemble Service earlier this year, the Council has invited all community members to a General Meeting to discuss the the benches and pathways beneath the Matrimandir banyan tree and how we make decisions as a community in Auroville. The meeting was held in SAWCHU on the 3rd of September. The discussion was vibrant and in some parts the emotional side came up. Anyway the interaction was conductive and some sort of results came up at the end. Jesse chaired the meeting. Here the 2 hours and 14 minutes recording of the full meeting.

 As part of inclusive planning and development exercise, the Green Group, the Forest Group the Farm Group and l'Avenir d'Auroville held a joint meeting to discuss issues relating to water, environment and forest and how that impacts planning and development. The meeting was hosted by Nikolai at the Youth Center. The discussion touched many topics regarding the development of the city. This meeting was first of the kind between the planners of the city and the persons taking care of most of the green. A very positive step.

 In the late afternoon of Thursday, July 15th, some hundred residents came together in SAWCHU, Bharat Nivas for an interactive meeting with Governing Board member and architect Mr Balkrishna Doshi. The meeting touched upon a variety of issues pertaining to the planning of the future city and formed a transitional moment in the change towards the new team of L'avenir d'Auroville. Members of the new as well as the old team were present, along with Ms Aster Patel, Mr Ramaswamy (IAS) and Mr Srnivasmurty, resp. Secretary and FAO of the Auroville Foundation.The meeting was preceded by two days of intensive meetings of Mr Doshi with residents involved in the planning. The atmosphere was lively and promising.

 Renu était là le 28 février 1968, elle avait 4 ans ce jour là. Depuis, comme elle le dit, la galaxie fait partie d'elle, elle a grandit avec. Mais aujourd'hui la tâche se complique car elle vient d'être fraichement nommée à l'Avenir d'Auroville (qui s'occupe du planning de la ville) en tant que membre de l'équipe de communication. Cette semaine Renu nous fait un petit update de l'Avenir et un aperçu de leur rencontre avec Mr Doshi.

 C'était le 1er avril dernier dans la salle de conférence du Town Hall. Il y avait là installé une exposition intitulée « Unfoling » qui retraçait, à travers des schémas et croquis, l'évolution de la galaxie et du travail de Roger Anger à Auroville. Cette exposition a été proposée par Mister Doshi, éminent architecte indien et membre du Governing Board. C'est Jacqueline, la compagne de Roger Anger qui a collecté, et sélectionné ces précieux documents d'archives. En ce jour du 1er avril, Jacqueline était là et faisait la visite à Doudou Diene et Marc Luyckx Ghisi tout deux membre de l'International Advisory Concil avec aussi la présence de Luigi et Alain Grandcolas.

 The process of renewing L’avenir d’Auroville (the Urban planning service of Auroville) is going on since sometime. It is the occasion for Auroville residents to find a new momentum toward the construction of the City. Amongst all the actions which are being conducted for this purpose, a Study group has worked toward the necessary evolution of the structure and functioning of this service. Their proposal was presented to the Residents during this meeting to start collect feedback from them and get it ratified. Here the recording of the meeting held yesterday in Town Hall.

 The last meeting regarding the renewal of L’Avenir d’Auroville was focused on the organisation and detailing of this process. Due to unavailability of space in the Pavillion of Tibetan Culture, this 3rd working session was exceptionally held in the Town Hall on Tuesday, 29th December 2009, at 10 am, in the Conference Room. All those who have been already participating in the first two sessions were present as well others who helped in constructing further on the ideas.The proposed process was then presented to the community and the Governing Board, on the occasion of the meeting on L’Avenir d’Auroville with the GB (B.V.
