Highest Health Through Nutrician

On the 4th of December 2017 in the reading room, at Savitri Bhavan, Dr Nandita Shah shared some of her deep knowledge on the subject of diet and nutrition and the link to many of the diseases such as cancer and diabetes which have severely increased in the last 50 years. She then gives many simple and logical explanations and reasons why we should change the food we eat to be simply more in tune with our instinctual and natural diet, in the same way that all animals instinctively know their natural food, to help alleviate some of these deadly diseases.
Let us all revert back to an organic plant based diet, let Auroville be a place and example to the world for the health and spiritual benefits of this simple shift.

Dr Nandita Shah has just had her new book “Reversing Diabetes in 21 Days” launched in India and published by Penguin Books. It’s available on Amazon and will soon be available at the Visitors Centre book shop too.
Her website address is www.sharan-India.org

Mr. Anathoo speaking on SAFE FOOD

An interactive session with Mr. Anathoo at Sustainable Livelihood Institute (SLI)
– An activist with deep commitment towards sustainability and involved in setting up several amazing ventures related to organic farming including ReStore (www.restore.org.in),OFM (www.ofmtn.in) and Tula (tula.org.in), an orgnaic cotton initiative. He has also been recently involved with the anti-GM Mustard campaign as well as the force behind organising the National Seed Savers & Diversity Festival at Anna University, Chennai.
Mr. Anathoo clearly states how commercialization of the agriculture industry is literally poisoning our food and our lives. In his talk in SLI, he presented with some serious facts and figures clearly pointing out the trend the agriculture industry in adopting by allowing practices like genetically modifies seeds which is a great fraud to our nutritional needs but also encourages the culture of heavy fertilizer and pesticide use. He stresses on the urgency on the consumers to become aware and start demanding for standardized and organic produce which is not only healthy to human but also keep the natural cycle of cultivation in check which supports the entire biosphere connected to producing and harvesting crops.

Good eating and well being

The idea of showing people how harvesting, cooking and celebrating your food can lead to a balanced community living led to the ‘6 Days of Hundred Percent Exploration of Nutritional Security’ Project at Solitude Farm last week. In this interview with Krishna, we discuss how it all began, food as much more than just a functional necessity and how important it is to honour mother earth and the soil.

Consciousness is a reality inherent in existence. It is there even when it is not active on the surface, but silent and immobile; it is there even when it is invisible on the surface, not reacting on outward things or sensible to them, but withdrawn and either active or inactive within; it is there even when it seems to us to be quite absent and the being to our view unconscious and inanimate.

H.E.R.S Reopens

H.E.R.S. – Helath, Education, Research, Service has started couple decades ago with a humble man Vinodh, who passed last year, and left behind him a gap, and unfinished dream. Team of H.E.R.S. started a “paradigm” shift this summer with first finishing the exposed beam , followed by redoing couple of wall , painting the whole space white ( what ultimately brought LIGHT in) …. and added new spacious black granite counter.
In a short interview with Gillian, Tulsi and Roy (team members along with Kumar and three girls) we hear what is going on and what plans they still have ahead of them in order to serve the community as they would like to.
